How to Claim Your Medal
Claiming is completely optional — your medal and memorial page are yours the moment you receive them. But if you’d like to hold the medal on the blockchain in your own wallet, here’s how. It takes about 5 minutes.
Before You Start
You’ll need a free Cardano wallet. Think of it as a personal, secure home for your digital medal on the blockchain — one only you control. Here are the three we recommend.
All three wallets are free
Setup takes about 2 minutes. You will be asked to write down a recovery phrase — a set of words that acts as your master key. Keep this phrase safe and never share it with anyone. It is the only way to recover access to your wallet if you lose your device.
How to Claim Your Medal
Once your wallet is set up, follow these steps.
Find Your Claim Link
Check the confirmation email you received after purchase, or the minting notification email sent when your medal was confirmed on-chain. Both contain your unique claim link. You can also find it in your VIRTUS account under your orders.
Open the Claim Page
Click the claim link. You will see your medal artwork, the virtue it represents, your dedication message, and a field to enter your Cardano wallet address.
Copy Your Wallet Address
Open your Cardano wallet (Eternl, Nami, or Vespr) and navigate to the “Receive” section. Copy your wallet address. It begins with addr1… and is a long string of letters and numbers. Every wallet has a one-click “Copy Address” button.
Paste & Confirm
Paste your wallet address into the claim field on the claim page and confirm. Please double-check the address before submitting — blockchain transactions are irreversible. Our system will send the medal token directly to your wallet. This typically takes a few minutes.
It’s Yours — Forever
Once the transaction confirms on the Cardano blockchain, the medal token is permanently in your wallet. No one can take it away — not even VIRTUS. View it in your wallet’s token gallery, or verify it on Cardanoscan.
No fees · No rush
Claiming is completely free — VIRTUS covers all blockchain transaction costs. There is no deadline. Your medal token will wait in our custody for as long as you need. Claim it today, next month, or next year.
Common Questions
If something doesn’t look right, check here first.
Blockchain transactions take a few minutes to confirm. Wait 10–15 minutes and refresh your wallet. If it still doesn’t appear, check that your wallet supports token display (all three recommended wallets do). If the issue persists after 30 minutes, contact us at info@virtus.gift with your order number and wallet address.
If the medal has already been sent to an incorrect address, it cannot be reversed — blockchain transactions are permanent. This is why we ask you to double-check before confirming. If the address does not exist on the Cardano network, the transaction will fail and we can re-issue the claim. Contact us immediately at info@virtus.gift.
No. VIRTUS medals are minted on the Cardano blockchain and can only be claimed to a Cardano-compatible wallet. Cardano addresses begin with addr1…. Do not use an Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, or any other blockchain address — you will lose your medal permanently.
Log in to your VIRTUS account and locate your order under “Orders.” Your claim link is always available there. If you ordered as a guest, email us at info@virtus.gift with your order number and we will resend it.
Not to claim — VIRTUS covers all minting and transaction fees. However, if you later want to sell or transfer your medal on the secondary market, you will need a small amount of ADA (typically 1–2 ADA) to cover the transaction fee. ADA can be purchased on most major exchanges.
That’s perfectly fine. Your medal is held securely in VIRTUS custody indefinitely with no expiry and no penalty. The memorial page remains accessible and fully functional whether or not the medal is ever claimed on-chain. Many recipients simply enjoy the memorial page and the gesture without ever interacting with the blockchain.
