It combines a unique virtue artwork with your dedication message, the recipient’s name, and the names of all co-signers — creating a permanent, unforgeable record of recognition on a dedicated memorial page at virtus.gift and on the blockchain forever.

Every VIRTUS medal — regardless of tier — includes: the unique virtue artwork for your chosen medal, your personal dedication message (up to 500 characters), the recipient’s name, a permanent memorial page at a unique URL on virtus.gift, Cardano blockchain minting and verification, and email delivery to both the buyer and recipient.

No — and we actively avoid that framing. VIRTUS is a gifting platform. Our medals use the Cardano blockchain as invisible infrastructure for permanence and verification, just as HTTPS is invisible infrastructure for web security. Buyers need no crypto knowledge. The medal is the product; the blockchain is the plumbing.

Yes — as an optional add-on. The Physical Card Add-On (+€7.90) is a premium NFC-enabled or QR-linked printed card that links directly to the digital memorial page. It can be gifted at weddings, graduations, or retirement ceremonies where a physical gift is expected. See our Shipping Policy for delivery timelines.

No. You purchase with a credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No crypto account, no wallet, and no technical knowledge is required. Your recipient can view and share their memorial page in any web browser. Claiming the medal to a Cardano wallet is entirely optional.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. No cryptocurrency payments are accepted for consumer purchases.

Absolutely. The digital medal is delivered entirely by email — no borders, no restrictions. The memorial page URL works anywhere in the world. If you add the Physical Card Add-On, we ship internationally. See our Shipping Policy for estimated delivery times by destination.

Yes. A full VAT-compliant invoice (series VT26) is automatically generated and emailed to you upon successful payment. You can also download it from your account page at any time.

Absolutely. Many people mint a medal as a personal milestone marker, a self-affirmation, or a reminder of a virtue they’re cultivating. Simply enter your own name and email address at checkout.

Co-signers are people who add their name (and an optional short message) to a medal you’ve initiated. Their names are permanently recorded on the Cardano blockchain alongside the medal, making the tribute a collective act. A colleague group all signing a Medal of Courage for a team member, for example, creates something far more powerful than a single signature.

After purchasing a Premium or Legendary medal, you receive a unique shareable co-signing link. Share it via WhatsApp, email, or any messaging platform. Each person clicks the link, enters their name and an optional message, and is added to the medal. No account or payment required from co-signers.

Premium and Legendary medals support unlimited co-signers. Everyday medals support up to 5 co-signers (including the primary buyer). There is no upper limit on Premium and Legendary — a company team of 200 can all co-sign a single medal.

Yes — you set the co-signing deadline when you purchase. Once the deadline passes, the medal is minted with all signatures received up to that point. No additional signatures can be added after minting, as the blockchain record is permanent. We recommend allowing 3–7 days for group co-signing.

Your memorial page is generated and publicly accessible within minutes of payment. You receive a confirmation email with the URL immediately. Blockchain minting follows within 24 hours (up to 72h in rare cases of high network load).

The memorial page is a permanent, publicly accessible page at virtus.gift/medal/[unique-slug] that displays the medal artwork, your dedication message, the recipient’s name, the occasion, all co-signer names, and a Cardanoscan link for blockchain verification. It can be shared, bookmarked, printed, and will remain live for as long as VIRTUS operates.

After minting is confirmed, the recipient automatically receives a gift notification email with a link to their memorial page, a QR code for easy mobile access, and optional instructions for claiming the medal to a Cardano wallet. Please provide the correct recipient email at checkout.

Ask them to check their spam or junk folder first. If the email is not there, contact us at info@virtus.gift with your order number and we will resend the notification promptly.

VIRTUS mints medals on the Cardano blockchain via NMKR infrastructure, using the CIP-68 standard. Cardano was chosen for its minimal environmental footprint, low transaction costs (~€1.80 per mint), and long-term sustainability. Medals can be verified on Cardanoscan, the public Cardano blockchain explorer.

Yes — intentionally. The recipient’s name, your dedication, the virtue, and all co-signer names are publicly visible on the memorial page and permanently recorded on the Cardano blockchain, which is a public distributed ledger. Do not include sensitive personal data (home addresses, phone numbers, etc.) in dedication messages.

No. Blockchain records are permanent and immutable by design. Once minted, no one — including VIRTUS — can alter or delete the on-chain data. We can remove or restrict the memorial page on virtus.gift upon a valid legal request, but the blockchain record remains permanent. This is why we ask you to review all content carefully before completing your order.

Yes — optionally. The minted medal is a Cardano token that can be claimed to any compatible Cardano wallet (Eternl, Nami, Vespr, etc.) at any time, at no extra cost. VIRTUS covers all transaction fees. Claiming is completely optional; the memorial page works perfectly without a wallet. See our How to Claim guide for step-by-step instructions.

The blockchain record is completely independent of our platform. If the recipient has claimed the medal to their personal Cardano wallet, it is theirs forever regardless of VIRTUS’s operational status. The memorial page at virtus.gift would no longer be accessible if VIRTUS ceases to operate, but the on-chain data is permanent.

Digital medals cannot be refunded after minting, due to the irreversible nature of blockchain records and the EU digital goods exemption (Art. 16(m), Directive 2011/83/EU). However, a short cancellation window exists before minting begins (approximately 60 minutes after payment). Technical failures entitle you to a full refund. Contact us at info@virtus.gift immediately after placing your order. If minting has not yet started (within approximately 60 minutes of payment), we can cancel and issue a full refund. Once minting has commenced, cancellation is not possible.

If a technical fault on our side prevents minting, you are entitled to a full refund. Email us at info@virtus.gift with your order number and a description of the issue. We investigate and resolve technical cases within one business day.
